Objective
Purpose of the course:
The purpose of the course is to broaden and deepen your knowledge of environmental diversity and to provide tools for assessing and modifying the environment to enhance human agency.

Learning objectives of the course
After completing this course, you will understand the impact of the environment on the human right to fulfil a person's occupational needs. You will be familiar with the complexity of the concepts of environment and accessibility as well as the basics of assessing and modifying the environment. You will understand the process of acquiring assistive devices and the potential of home modifications as a means of increasing human participation and agency. You will be able to consider the diversity of the working environment, and issues affecting safety and ergonomics and be aware of the potential of technology in rehabilitation. You can plan and carry out a home visit.

Teaching methods
The course includes face-to-face sessions, online learning, assignments and exams.Flipped learning is used with the learning sessions.
Through face-to-face and online learning, you will learn about the impact of the environment on people's right to fulfil their functional needs. You will practise how to use assistive devices, looking at accessibility and writing an assistive device recommendation. Through learning tasks, you will deepen your knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility as enablers of client participation. As you prepare for the exam, you will learn more about the complexity of the concept of environment, the potential of technology as part of the occupational therapy client's environment, accessibility, ergonomics and coping at work. The exam will assess your knowledge of these topics.
The mid term feedback will be collected in the middle of the course.
