Objective

The aim of the course is learning to draw up an individual and appropriate rehabilitation plan. Other aims include learning to identify the different phases of rehabilitation as a goal-oriented process that progresses individually.

Intended learning outcome:

Assessment of needs and possibilities for rehabilitation: You are able to carry out an individual initial assessment of the rehabilitee’s situation on which the rehabilitation plan is based.

Rehabilitation planning: Based on the initial assessment, you are able to plan for and draw up a person-centered, individual rehabilitation plan.

Rehabilitation service system: You select appropriate rehabilitation goals and measures. You know the rehabilitation process and its different phases. You know how to guide and support the rehabilitee in different phases of the process and in social security issues.

Content

The core content of the course comprises individual, rehabilitee-centered planning of rehabilitation, setting of rehabilitation goals and drawing up of a rehabilitation plan. The course also covers the rehabilitation process based on the plan and goals.

Teaching methods

You start the course by completing a preliminary orientation assignment. It will also help you to structure your previous knowledge in relation to the main content of the course.

The independent tasks will consist of online assignments that you will be able to schedule independently. In the webinars, you will have access to presentations, participate in joint discussions and work on a pair assignment. You will have the opportunity to influence the emphasis of the topics covered in the presentations.

During the course, you will implement a rehabilitation plan based on a fictitious case situation with another student as a pair project.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to carry out an initial assessment of the rehabilitee's situation. They are able to present an individual and appropriate rehabilitation goal based on the initial assessment and select appropriate rehabilitation services to achieve this goal. The student knows how to take the significance of social security into account as part of the plan. They are able to draw up an individual rehabilitation plan. The student knows the phases of the rehabilitation process and is able to identify them in proportion to the rehabilitee's situation as well as is able to draw on theory to justify their choices.

Qualifications

You are familiar with the different areas and levels of the rehabilitation service system and the main features of social security related to rehabilitation. You know the legislation governing the activities.

Further information

The assessment of the course will be based on independent online assignments and a rehabilitation plan completed in pairs. Active participation in webinars, scheduling of own studies and commitment to pair work will contribute to the achievement of the learning objectives.
