Content scheduling

The course begins on week 3/2021 and ends on week 17/2021.
A distance learning course in Moodle- or Optima-environment.

Assignments on the course are divided into 3-4 sections. You have approximately 3 weeks time to do the assignments of every section.

First exam halfway through the course, second exam at the end of the course (week 17/2021).

Objective

In the course you will revise the basics of Swedish. The course will help you pass your compulsory Swedish studies.

After completing this course, you will be able to communicate understandably in Swedish in familiar situations, both orally and in writing. You will gain command of basic vocabulary and grammar and know how to apply them in different communication situations. You will understand Swedish texts that are related to familiar topics. You will be able to write and talk about everyday topics.

Content

You will study themes related to free time and working life. You will revise the basic structures and vocabulary of Swedish and practice using them in oral and written communication. You will read and write texts in Swedish related to free time and working life and practice oral communication in everyday situations.

Teaching methods

In distance learning you will study in an online learning environment. You will receive teacher feedback on your learning assignments.

In face-to-face learning you will participate in lectures and practise oral and written communication independently and in groups. You will receive teacher feedback on your learning assignments.

This is a distance learning course in Moodle- or Optima-environment.
The course starts on January 18th and ends on April 30th 2021.

Face-to-face learning:

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Approved
You are able to communicate understandably both orally and in writing in familiar situations. You understand clear speech and writing with familiar content. You have a reasonable command of the basic structures of the language. Your vocabulary is sufficient for everyday situations. The level of your pronunciation is sufficient for the delivery of content.

Failed
Your performance does not meet the criteria for passing the course.

Qualifications

You know the basics of Swedish, but your language skills are below Level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR, https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/sites/default/files/cefr-en.pd f).

Continuous evaluation, enhancement-led evaluation and self-evaluation are used as evaluation methods.
