Objective

The purpose of the course:
The purpose of the course is to provide skills for managing and developing processes related to supervisory activities. The purpose is also to understand the prerequisites for a profitable service business.

The aim of the course:
You understand the requirements set for a supervisor role in the responsible and effective management of service business. You know personnel management processes. You understand the key labor legislation in the field and know how to plan work shifts.

You understand the prerequisites for a profitable business. You get to know the principles of profit margin thinking, know how to price and prepare profitability calculations and use them to support supervisory activities.

Student workload

Lectures 40 h, independent study and assignments 150 h, group assignment 80 h. Total 270 h.

Attendees will be checked three weeks after the start of the course. If the student has not completed the assignments given by the teacher, he/she will be removed from the course

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1: The student shows that he/she has mastered the tasks of management, personnel management and profitable business included in the supervisory role of a service company, but the application remains incomplete.

2: The student shows that he/she manages and applies the tasks of management, human resources management and profitable business included in the supervisory role of a service company.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

3: The student demonstrates mastery of the management, personnel management, and profitable business tasks included in the supervisory role of a service company, and demonstrates to some extent a critical and analytical approach to their evaluation.

4: The student shows an almost comprehensive, critical and analytical approach to the duties of management, personnel management and profitable business included in the supervisory role of a service company.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

5: The student demonstrates a comprehensive, critical and analytical approach to the duties of management, personnel management and profitable business included in the supervisory role of a service company.
