Objective

The students are capable of self-expression in playing the piano. They play the practiced repertoire trying to achieve stylistic correctness and characteristic, typically pianistic piano interpretation. They perceive the pop/jazz characteristic features and are able to accompany in the corresponding style. The students are acquainted with blues-tonality and structure and are able to improvise using blues-tonality. They recognize and are able to use the most general harmonic progressions in light music at the piano.

The students evaluate their skills realistically and set for themselves attainable goals in their own instrument, as well as assuming responsibility for their study also in ensembles.

Content

FREE ACCOMPANYING
-short-hand symbol playing (seventh chords)
-accompanying in the main light music syles: (humppa, valse, tango, beguine, beat, bossanova, reggae, fast beat)
-acquaintance with blues-tonality and structure
-participation in school performances
-playing of most typical chord progressions (II-V-I in major and minor, diatonic circle of fifths in white keys, major and minor)

Pass (S):

The students are able to accompany in style and manage in clear and simple soloistic pieces. They are able to play with good touch and ergonomically. They recognize and are able to play from short hand (seventh chords)and their inversions and are able to play 12 bar blues cycles as accompanyist and soloist.

They are able to evaluate their skills and development.

Failed (0):
The students do not the course's minimal passing requirements.
