Content scheduling

The course is divided into three parts A, B and C.
Part A 2 credits at the same time as Medical Nursing studies.
Part B 2 credits at the same time as Mental health nursing.
Part C 1 credit at the same time as Acute and Perioperative nursing.

Objective

In this course you will learn the basics of pharmacology and the most commonly used groups of medicine.

You master the basics of pharmacology when planning, implementing and evaluating a client's / patient's pharmacological treatment.

You compare multidisciplinary information to support clinical decision-making and make evidence-based conclusions.

Content

Basics of pharmacokinetics and dynamics, drug interactions, key groups of drugs used in long-term and acute treatment, their mechanisms of action and the most common side effects, special features of children's medication.

Part A: 54 hours, of which contact teaching 8 x 2 h
Part B: 54 hours, of which contact teaching 8 x 2 h
Part C: 27 hours, of which contact teaching 5 x 2 h

You are able to explain the most common adverse effects and interactions of drugs and their significance in the implementation of pharmacotherapy for patients.

You know the purposes and mechanisms of the most commonly used drug groups.

You can explain the most common adverse and synergistic effects of medicinal substances and their importance in the implementation of the patient's medical treatment.

You can apply your knowledge of pharmacology in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient's medical treatment.

Qualifications

You master the basics of medical treatment, drug calculation, nursing, and anatomy and physiology.
