Objective
Purpose of the course
In this course you will learn to implement the evidence based occupational therapy process and use research evidence in the process. You will learn to scrutinize the meaningfulness and occupation centeredness of the occupational therapy process. You will learn to recognize the quality and developmental needs of occupational therapy services.

Competence in the management and promotion of occupational therapy services
Learning outcomes of the course
After the course you will be able to assess the practices of occupational therapy critically in order to ensure the occupation is in the focus. You will be able to use occupational therapy assessment methods and use the assessment results. You will be able to look for relevant evidence, scrutinize it critically and analyze it in order to use the information in your practice. You will be able to argue the meaningfulness of human occupations. You will be able to work interprofessionally in communities in order to enhance health and wellbeing and participation to occupations. You will be able to recognize the quality and developmental needs of occupational therapy services.
Content
Supervised practical training
Written and virtual assignments related to the content of the practice as well as supervising meetings
Location and time
The placement the student is looking for in Finland or abroad at a time convenient to the student
Materials
Materials from occupational therapy theory courses and materials required/proposed by the internship site are suitable for the internship site.
