Objective

Purpose of the course
In this unit, you will learn how to apply theories of nursing care and use of assistive technology in a simulation environment.

Learning outcomes of the course
You practice nursing techniques while taking into account aseptics and ergonomics. You are able to meet the basic needs of patients from diverse cultures and backgrounds through safe nursing care methods. You familiarize yourself with methods of professional interaction with patients, while taking into account multiculturalism and other diversities.

Aseptic working methods in nursing
Ergonomic patient handling techniques and assistive technologies
Patient hygiene needs and enabling patient autonomy
Measuring vital signs
Management of voiding and elimination
Basic nursing interventions in nutrition
Basic laboratory samples
Injections and drug therapy

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass
You are able to interact with patients professionally. You are able to identify the patients' needs and respond to them through relevant and appropriate nursing interventions, while taking into account patient safety. You apply asepstics and ergonomics in nursing.
