Objective
Design and surface modelling are an important part of product design. After completing the course, you will understand the key concepts of design and the basics of industrial design. You will learn to use the concepts and methods that are adapted in the course at a basic level in your own work. In addition to this, you will learn to recognize the industrial designer's job description and design requirements in machine design.
Knowledge and understanding:
You understand the basics of surface modelling and industrial design.
Engineering practice:
You are able to apply the learned established methods to solve practical problems.
Content
3D surface modelling methods and hybrid modelling. Structure of modell and tree structure as a design tool.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to model the tasks assigned and model a rehearsal that takes into account the possibilities of productisation. Report on rehearsal and completion of surface modelling tasks.
Qualifications
The basics of machine drawing and CAD. Basics of 3D modelling, e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks or Catia.
