Objective

The students understand the basics of the design of user interfaces, are able to consider the user's physical and mental qualities in UI design, and can apply knowledge and skills to design work.
EA-ER EUR-ACE Engineering practice: The students have the ability to combine theory and practice to solve problems in user interface design

TKNSU Competence in design: The students master the technical documentation of user interface design projects. They can take into consideration the whole product life cycle in user interface design. The students understand the meaning of team work in product development.

YHTYR Entrepreneurship skills: The students have the ability to look for customer-friendly, sustainable and economically-viable solutions in user interface design

YHTVI Communication skills: The students are able to communicate in product development well, both orally and in writing in their mother tongue and know how to use communications technology in user interface design development projects. The students are able to work in user interface design development networks.

The basics of the UI design process, different user interfaces and their design

Completion alternatives

Exam 40%. Independent assignments 10% (demos, can raise the grade)Group assignments 50% (assignment, can raise or lower the grade).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills of the course and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner to demanding user interface design development tasks.

Very good (4): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner to user interface design development tasks.

Good (3): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills and can apply them to user interface design development tasks:
- can explain the significance of the user interface design and innovation process among the other processes in a company
- is familiar with different types of user interface design development processes and can describe their progress from a product idea to a finished product in the market
- is familiar with the basic project management tools and can implement them in study projects
- can use creative working methods in the innovation and solution of practical problems

Satisfactory (2): The student is familiar with the basic knowledge and terminology but can only satisfactorily apply them to user interface design development tasks.

Adequate (1): The student identifies the basic knowledge and terminology but can only sufficiently apply them to simple user interface design development tasks.
