Objective

The student is able to define, design and implement a standard-based and valid web site taking into account the target group. The student is able to report his/her assignment according to the framework given in the course. (See Course Contents)

Content

Course Contents - Basics in definition and design of web site and documentation (e.g. Synopsis, layout diagram, layout plan, testing etc.)
- Development process of web site
- Web site language syntax (HTML5)
- Styling the layout with style sheets (CSS)
- validation and accessibility with various browsers
- Basics in JavaScript and implementation of image gallery
- Publication

Material distributed by the lecturer on web sites (e.g. https://www.w3schools.com/ , https://www.w3.org/ as well as instructions on videos)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1: The student knows Web standard and style design and is able to produce a simple valid and accessible site partly taking into account the site target group. The course assignment has been documented according to the requirements; however, it is very limited.

Satisfactory 2: The student understands Web standard and style design and is able to produce a valid and accessible site partly taking into account the site target group. The course assignment has been documented according to the requirements; however, it is brief.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3: The student knows the Web standard and style design and is able to produce a valid and accessible web site taking into account the site target group. The course assignment has been documented according to the requirements.

Very good 4: The student masters Web standard and style design and is able to produce for the main part a functional, valid and accessible web site taking into account the site target group. The documentation of the course assignment is thorough and faultless.

Excellent: The student has extensive command of Web standard and style design and is able to produce a stylish (layout, graphics, colours, fonts etc.), valid and accessible site with a deep understanding of the site target group. The documentation of the course assignment is comprehensive, profound and faultless. (See Course Contents).
