Objective

The aim of the course is advancing your understanding of the concepts of unemployment, the goals and possibilities of rehabilitating unemployed jobseekers, services, and service processes and pathways. You know some practices and methods of assessing work ability and functional capacity as well as different forms and methods of counselling and support.

Intended learning outcome:

You recognise phenomena associated with unemployment and the possibilities of promoting unemployed persons’ employment, quality of life, participation, work ability and functional capacity by means of rehabilitation. You are able to address the service needs of an unemployed jobseeker and direct them on in the service network.

You are familiar with the legislation associated with services for the unemployed and unemployment benefits. You are able to describe the employment, social and health services for the unemployed. You are able to describe the appropriate service pathway for an unemployed person as well as analyse the critical points of the service pathway and factors that promote rehabilitation or employment.

You are familiar with methods and practices of assessing the work ability and functional capacity of unemployed persons. You know how to use participatory and resource-based guidance methods. You are able to describe the significance of peer support and expertise by experience in the rehabilitation of unemployed persons.

Content

The core content of the course comprises employment, social and health services for an unemployed jobseeker and the legislation governing them as well as appropriate service pathways and directing clients to them.

Qualifications

You know how to guide, support and motivate an individual and their social and other co-operation networks in the service process. You are aware of the significance of promoting work ability, functional capacity and participation in guidance work. You are familiar with different areas of the service system.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You are able to describe concepts, phenomena and possibilities of rehabilitation associated with unemployment and recognise factors and methods that promote unemployed persons’ employment, quality of life, participation as well as work ability and functional capacity. You are able to explain how a client should be directed to the services and benefits they need and describe the client's service pathway in a context selected by you. You know how to account for the requirements set by legislation and assessment methods on a client’s service pathway as well as select impactful measures for them.
