Objective

On this course you will study forest and agricultural bio-based materials, their processing according to sustainable development, and their conversion into useful products and energy. The course does not cover food production.

Knowledge and understanding You will learn about different bio-based materials and their most common uses. You will understand the effects of raw material quality and processing on their use and end product quality. You will understand the importance and opportunities of circular economy in the life cycle of bio-based products.

Information retrieval and research You will learn how to search and interpret research information on the impacts of bio-based raw material production and processing on their utilization in various products. You will learn how to evaluate, classify and report on the information you find in a clear and illustrative way.

Communication and teamwork You will learn how to work in a team and communicate with other students in a clear way. You will learn how to present your findings in a clear and illustrative way.
