Objective

Purpose of the course:
The knowledge and skills you will need in this course will enable you to build demanding concrete structures using on-site casting and precast elements.

Course competences:

Course objective:
On completion of the course, you will understand how different types of concrete floor structures are constructed, be able to use different concreting techniques and be familiar with the principles of precast concrete systems. In addition, you will be familiar with element joining techniques and be able to prepare the structural part of the element installation plan.
These are also the basic tasks of the course.

Content

1 cr: Concrete floor structures, concreting techniques,
1 cr: Joints of frame elements, facade elements and their joints, stiffening of prefabricated buildings,
1 cr: Precast element design and precast element installation design, BIM (Building Information Modeling).

Qualifications

Basics of building technology: prefabricated construction of a conventional building, building nomenclature and safety at work.
Concrete work: precast concrete construction; logistics, on-site storage, installation planning and selection of lifting equipment,
Information modelling (BIM): checking and using the information model for industry-specific tasks.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Intermediate (1): The student knows and recognises the topics described in the unit objectives and is able to perform the tasks according to the unit objectives: concrete floor structures, concreting techniques, joints of frame elements, facade elements and their joints, stiffening of prefabricated buildings, element fabrication plans and element installation plans, use of information model (BIM). Students can demonstrate their competence by carrying out tasks in accordance with the objectives.

Satisfactory (2): The student knows, identifies and understands the issues described in the learning objectives of the course. The student can demonstrate competence by systematically describing the topics covered in the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): the student has achieved the learning objectives of the course and is able to demonstrate his/her knowledge in a clear and understandable way. The student is able to articulate the learning in a clear and concise manner and to apply it to practical tasks.

Excellent (4). The student is able to describe the effects of different solutions and to make informed choices between alternatives.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): the student has achieved the learning objectives of the course with excellent results. In addition, the student is able to examine the topics of the course theoretically and apply them critically in practice. Competence is demonstrated in a coherent and multidimensional manner.
