Objective

Purpose of the course

Do you want to learn to understand cloud services that enable the construction of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (machine learning) services with ready-made models and services? In the course, the students will familiarise and utilise foundational artificial intelligence and machine learning services with image- and optical character recognition and forecasting services in the cloud. The course enables students to understand the potential of cloud-based AI and machine learning services in a digital operating environments.

Course competences

- Information System Competence: Is familiar with typical information systems and services and understands the importance of security in utilizing services.
- Operating in workplace: Utilises the opportunities offered by technology and digitalisation in their work.
- ICT Specialization Competence: Is able to apply their knowledge and skills in a specific area of ICT, as well as analyze, evaluate, and develop operations in this area.
- Business Competence: Understands the significance of information technology as part of organizational operations and its role in business development.


Learning objectives of the course

After completing the course, you will understand various machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning), as well as higher-level artificial intelligence services. You will be able to implement a simple machine learning pipeline. You will comprehend and be capable of using managed higher-level machine learning services for forecasting, computer vision, and natural language processing.

The course covers, for example, the following topics:

-Machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning)
-Higher-level services: forecasting and computer vision, natural language processing
-Other current artificial intelligence and machine learning services

Qualifications

- Basic understanding of programming (JavaScript, Python or Node.js)
- Basic understanding of data processing or preprocessing
- Basic knowledge of cloud services

Sufficient 1
You have basic knowledge in the area of AI & Machine learning services in the cloud. You know the components and terms of Artificial intelligence and machine learning cloud services and what they mean.

Satisfactory 2
You have knowledge in the area of AI & Machine learning services in the cloud. You know the components terms of Artificial intelligence and machine learning cloud services
and what they mean.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3
You understand the concepts of artificial intelligence and Machine learning services in the cloud and can apply the gained knowledge in a real-life data problems.

Very good 4
You understand the concepts of artificial intelligence and Machine learning services in the cloud and can apply the gained knowledge in a real-life AI & Machine learning problems and use cases. You have expanded your knowledge independently during the course.

Excellent 5
In addition to previous requirements you can analytically discuss about the concepts in artificial intelligence and machine learning services in the cloud and present and defend (based on knowledge and evidence) your opinions. You can question the presented information and give valid options.
