Objective

Purpose of the course

After completing this course, you will be able to use different smart agriculture solutions and search for information about them to achieve the desired production goal. You will be at the forefront of modern agriculture with up-to-date methods and business-oriented examples. Our goal is resource efficiency in production and farm economy, environmental friendliness and situational awareness.

Agricultural skills:
-You will be able to select the crop management methods for different crops and plan the crop production on the farm according to the type of production.
Technological competence:
-be able to select and develop technological solutions for bio-economic production processes
-be able to measure and analyse the results of biomass production and processing processes
-be able to exploit different sources of bioeconomy data, ensuring data accuracy and security
Proactive development:
-be able to look for customer-oriented, sustainable and economically viable solutions, anticipating the future of your industry

Content

-Basics of precision agriculture and smart farming
-Using drone technology in agriculture
-Modern tractor and implement management systems (ISOBUS, etc.)
-Internet of things (IoT) in the agricultural environment: sensors, measuring devices and data transmission solutions
-Development and measurement of on-farm production processes
-Basics of data management in agriculture
-Logistic solutions for primary production in the bioeconomy

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of agriculture and its technology, e.g. knowledge of typical agricultural machinery and equipment and farming methods.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Intermediate 1:
You can search for and use smart agriculture applications. You understand the importance of data collection for the development of agricultural activities. You are familiar with different data sources in the development of production processes and in achieving situational awareness. You will also become familiar with the use of different technologies in field conditions.

Satisfactory 2:
You will be able to search, exploit and compare applications of smart agriculture to improve production efficiency. You will understand the importance of data collection for the development of agricultural activities. You know the different sources of data for improving production processes and achieving situational awareness. You will also practice the use of different technologies in field conditions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3:
You can search for, use and compare applications of smart agriculture to improve production efficiency. You know the importance of data collection for improving agricultural performance. You will select and compare different data sources in order to improve production processes and to achieve situational awareness. You will also test different technologies under field conditions.

Excellent 4:
You are able to search for, comprehensively use and compare a wide range of applications of smart agriculture to improve production efficiency. You know the importance of data collection for improving agricultural performance. You make comprehensive use of different data sources to improve production processes and to achieve situational awareness. You will also make use of different technologies in field conditions.
