Objective

Purpose of the course
After attending the study course, you have developed your expertise and pedagogical skills regarding the sexual and equality education of children and young people.

The student understands the central concepts and approaches of sexuality and equality education.

The student knows how to plan, implement and evaluate sexual and equality education for children and young people.

The student knows how to develop his own expertise as a sexuality and equality educator.

Content

Sexuality and equality education in childhood: gender sensitivity, cultural sensitivity, self-reliance, positivity

Body awareness education: promoting positive body self-esteem and body image, promoting the development of self-esteem, respecting individuality

Safety education: sexual rights of children and young people, setting one's own boundaries and respecting others and promoting sexual safety, friendship and socializing skills, responsibility for one's own and one's partner's sexual well-being, prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence

Diversity and equality: diversity of gender and sexuality in childhood and early adolescence, promotion of equality and gender equality

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student actively participates in the work of the whole group and his/her small group. He /she takes responsibility and takes into account other students in his activities. He/she demonstrates that he/she has good knowledge and skills related to the content areas of the course, justifies his/her actions and strives to create new solutions. In the tasks, he/she shows the ability to describe and justify the phenomena of the subject area critically and by making versatile and appropriate use of up-to-date evidence-based sources.
