Objective

The purpose of the course is to increase your understanding of multidisciplinary collaboration in early childhood education and the co-operation in education with guardians. In addition, it is intended that you will learn to identify the key services of families with children and know the goals of the work of the Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator.

Learning outcomes:

You are able to strengthen the well-being and inclusion of the child and family. You are able to utilize the principles, methods and practices of educational cooperation.

You are able to work as an expert in social services and early childhood education in multidisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration. You are able to identify and evaluate the needs of service guidance and multidisciplinary collaboration to support families.

Content

The main content of the course is educational cooperation with families. The course includes “Perhepolku” -instructor training and practical implementation of the method in early childhood education. In addition, the course examines multidisciplinary cooperation, services for families with children, and the implementation of service guidance, as well as the goals and tasks of the Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator of early childhood education.  

Qualifications

Knowledge of Finnish social welfare and early childhood education services.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You can describe educational cooperation with families and “Perhepolku” method as part of it. You participate in the implementation of Perhepolku parent evenings. You describe the principles of multidisciplinary work, services for families with children and service guidance. You will identify and be able to name the duties of a Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator in early childhood education.
