Suorittamalla tutkinto-ohjelmansa ruotsin kielen pakollisen opintojakson hyväksytysti opiskelija osoittaa hallitsevansa valtion virkamiehiltä vaadittavan suullisen ja kirjallisen ruotsin kielen taidon (laki julkisyhteisöjen henkilöstöltä vaadittavasta kielitaidosta 424/2003, 6§).
Tutkintotodistuksessa toisen kotimaisen kielen suullinen ja kirjallinen taito merkitään erikseen. Tämä arviointi perustuu pakollisen opintojakson suulliseen ja kirjalliseen arvosanaan siten, että arvosanat 4 ja 5 tarkoittavat tutkintotodistuksessa hyvää ja arvosanat 1, 2 ja 3 tyydyttävää taitoa.
