Purpose of the course

The purpose of the course is to introduce you to physiotherapy and the work of a physiotherapist.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, you are familiar with the physiotherapy process and you can describe the content of the work of a physiotherapist and the activities of a physiotherapist in accordance with ethical guidelines. You will also understand the issues related to data protection.

Content

During the course, you will learn about the physiotherapy process, the basics of data protection and the ethical guidelines for physiotherapists. You will also learn about the content and ethics of the work of a physiotherapist in the workplace.

You can describe the work of a physiotherapist and explain how ethical behaviour is reflected in the work of a physiotherapist. You will be able to identify the different phases of the physiotherapy process and understand the importance of data protection as part of social and health work.

Teaching methods

The course consists of 1 credit of independent theory and 1 credit of work experience (2 days). You will choose and be in contact with an organisation providing physiotherapy services of your choice. The course also includes a 4-hour reflective contact on campus.

Practical training and working life connections

The course includes a two-day introduction to working life. You will find a place of your own interest.

Exam dates and retake possibilities

The course includes an online course on Information Security in Social and Health Care, which you must pass during the course.

Content scheduling

The course must be completed independently before entering the working life. The final reflection contact will take place at the beginning of May 2025, by which time all course assignments must have been completed.
