Objective

Purpose of the course

The purpose of the course is to support your life balance, holistic well-being and study ability and to prepare you for future well-being and coping at work.

Learning objective of the course

You will be able to assess and develop your own life balance and well-being and the factors that influence them. You will examine your own activities according to the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. You will develop your competence in your own contexts. You solve challenges affecting your life balance and well-being in a creative way and reform your practices in line with your goals. You apply reliable knowledge in your development.

Content

The main focus of the course is to examine and develop your own actions and habits from the perspective of life balance and overall well-being. You will assess your own motivation for change and set personal goals based on your needs. You will explore theoretical and practical issues related to the achievement of your goals. Finally, based on your observations, experiences and knowledge, you will make a plan to promote your well-being.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Student will identify the factors that influence his/her own life balance and well-being and examine his/her own behaviour through the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. Student will describe the development of his/her own competence. Student will find solutions to challenges in his/her own life and identify opportunities to reform his/her own practices. Student will integrate reliable information to plan for change in his/her own practice.

Teaching methods

The course is based on face to face or online learning. There will be seminars in the start and end of course. Assignments are individual tasks: personal goals, reflection of literature, occupational tasks and plan for the future.

Student workload

Webinars and groupmeetings in face-to face meetings or by online, occupational tasks 1 cr (27h).

Online studies 1 cr (27 h)

Reading literature and individual tasks 3 cr (81 h).

Content scheduling

The course is based on weekly tasks and it is participation requires scheduled progress.

Participation in groupmeetings is possible in face to face-meetings or online meetings.
