Objective

The student is able to create tourism business concept utilizing different fields of businesses. The student is able to design innovative models that provide multi-sensory experiences for the tourism customers. The student recognizes the potential for success based on market and customer analysis.

Qualifications

The student knows the basics of business functions. The student knows customer-oriented nature in tourism services. The student understands how the tourism industry has developed and what it comprises in Finland or/and abroad. The student understands the multifaceted approaches in tourism. The student knows the different stages of the service design process, and knows how to apply the process in product development.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

5 (Excellent) The student creates, in addition to the core competence required for grades 3 (Good) and 4 (Very good), analytical and critical examination. The student shows exceptional innovative results in the creation process.
4 (Very Good) The student has contributed to the knowledge of the several fields of business with gained good (3) results.
3 (Good) The student has gained good results in the customer-centered creation process. Global perspective is considered.
2 (Satisfactory) The student shows basic development competence by creating a concept.
1 (Sufficient) The student shows product development skills with only a few customer valuing process.
0 (Failed) The student enables creating a process or an outcome.
