Objective

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to
- identify and understand the different approaches of the sport facilities planning and operations
- differentiate various types of sport facilities according to their history, specific characteristics, functions and requirements of the various stakeholders
- identify, differentiate and evaluate the different stages „planning“, „financing“, „construction“ and „operation“ of a sport facility
- recognise relationships between a sport facility’s location, its structural conditions and its operation
- identify critical factors of sport facility management and compare and evaluate various practical examples

You are able to understand the basic sport operations and facility management concepts. You are able to find relevant information and solve simple problems in relation to this area. You take responsibility of your own work. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly. There are some issues in complying with JAMK reporting instructions.

You are able to solve basic operations and facility management related sport business problems in practice. You are capable of searching academic literature and other relevant information from different sources. You are able to utilize this information in satisfactory way. You are able to work independently and take responsibility of your team’s work. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly. There are minor issues in complying with JAMK reporting instructions.

You are able to analyze basic issues in operations and facility field and related sport business problems in practice.
