Objective

Purpose of the course

Ethical leadership combines values, morality and ethical principles. Promoting ethical leadership in an organisation has a positive impact on the corporate image and a confidential atmosphere in work communities and among stakeholders, as well as on the implementation of social responsibility in society.

As an ethical leader, you direct the values and ethical principles of the organisation's operations, which promote fairness and equality in the work community and organisation and ensure compliance with legislation in business decision-making.

Jamk University of Applied Sciences, School of Business is committed to the Principles of Responsible Management Education initiative (PRME), which aims to develop responsible decision-makers for future and advance sustainable development. This course primarily supports the following UN's Sustainable Development Goals: 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16, and 17.

You are able to promote ethically sustainable operations and ethical reflection in different operating environments. You promote the realisation of ethical principles and values by making decisions in your management, taking into account individual, communal and societal perspectives. You promote diversity and accessibility. You implement the principles of responsible conduct of research and promote their application in your work community.

Internationality and multiculturalism
You are able to develop practices that take multiculturalism into account in your work community.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, you will be able to evaluate and analyse the theories, ethical principles and values of ethical leadership and their significance in the management of the work community and business and/or organisation. You promote the implementation of ethical management in the organisation, taking into account the key stakeholders of business operations and the diversity of working life. You are able to reflect on your ethical values and evaluate your actions from the perspective of ethical management

Corporate Social Responsibility course or equivalent competence.
