Objective

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to

• employ theoretical and conceptual knowledge to identify and analyze intercultural management and leadership challenges. (KU1)

• interpret and analyse intercultural management and leadership issues from multiple perspectives and critically review academic literature and other relevant information sources (IS2)

Content

The course offers insight into the challenges the international manager meets globally. The challenges will range from recruitment to personnel management, team and Project management in international and multicultural context. The students will develop their understanding of the gained theoretical knowledge and concepts By interpreting various intercultural management case studies.

Completed Basic business and management studies.

Adequate 1
Knowledge and Understanding: The student is able to demonstrate some of the Basic theoretical and conceptual knowledge. Central concepts are defined vaguely.
Intellectual Skills: The student is able to describe the problem but has obvious problems in interpreting and analysing complex international management issues in questio

Satisfactory 2
Knowledge and Understanding: The student is able to give some evidence on his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge. Central concepts have been defined partly. The student displays only superficial knowledge of the subject area.
Intellectual Skills: The student is able to define the problem but has some difficulties in interpretation and analysis of the complex management issues and problems arising from cultural differences and is not able to evaluate them from multiple perspectives.

Knowledge and Understanding: The student demonstrates his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge clearly. Central concepts have been defined well. The student displays fairly good command of the subject area.
Intellectual Skills: The student is able to interpret and analyse complex management issues and problems arising from cultural differences fairly well.

Very good 4
Knowledge and Understanding: The student demonstrates solid and right theoretical and conceptual knowledge of international management and leadership. Central concepts have been defined accurately. The student displays a good command of the subject area.
Intellectual Skills: The student is able to interpret and analyse complex management issues and problems arising from cultural differences in a good manner.
