Objective

The student acts in empowering partnership with families with children. Under supervision he/she is able to implement the nursing process in collaboration with multicultural families and multi-professional networks using evidence-based decision making.
He/she masters essential clinical nursing interventions and methods and administers vaccinations and medications safely.

Monitoring growth and development of children and adolescents
Basics of clinical skills in pediatric and adolescent nursing, basics of clinical skills in sexual and reproductive health

Student has acquirements of promoting health of families and planning, implementing and evaluating family nursing.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass (S):
Students
- work in a resource-based cooperative relationship in care of the child or/and adolescents and their family
- implement under guidance the nursing process of the family and the child in a customer-oriented manner, applying multidisciplinary evidence-based knowledge
- are skilled in key treatment procedures and in safe implementation in guidance of drug therapy
- work according to the principles of entrepreneurship

Content scheduling

Laboratory and simulation teaching, competence display, online teaching of drug calculation and vaccination are implemented in connection with the Family Nursing course. Family Nursing practice I takes place according to the student's own group or personal curriculum.

Further information for students

The evaluation of the evidence for laboratory and simulation teaching and the acquisition of competence is carried out on the principle of continuous feedback. Self-assessment and peer review also play a key role. Assessment is based on the course objectives and assessment criteria.
The evaluation of the drug calculation test is passed / fail.
Family nursing practice I in child and adolescent nursing work environments is established in accordance with the evaluation criteria for vocational training.
