Objective

After completing the course, the student knows various number systems and is able to make number system conversions. The student knows the basics of logical planning and is able to simplify equations and analyze simple problems of digital technology.

Content

The course consists of number systems, number system conversions, binary codes, Boolean algebra, minimization, gate circuits, gate circuits, structure of logic circuits, combination logics and sequential logics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1: The student knows number systems and is able to perform simple number system conversions with the help of examples. The student knows the basics of logical planning and is able to simplify equations with the help of examples. The student is able to analyze simple problems of digital technology; however, not to design solutions independently.

Satisfactory 2: The student masters number systems and is able to perform number system conversions with the help of examples. The student knows logical planning and basics of switching algebra and is able to simplify equations with the help of examples. The student is able to analyze simple problems of digital technology and design solutions based on an example.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3: The student masters number systems, and is able to perform number system conversions independently. The student masters logical planning and basics of switching algebra, and is able to simplify equations. The student is able to analyze problems of digital technology and design solutions independently.

Very good 4: The student masters number systems and is able to perform demanding number system conversions. The student masters logical planning and basics of switching algebra, and is able to simplify equations. The student knows the basics of combination algebra. The student is able to solve problems of digital technology and design creative solutions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5: The student masters number systems and is able to perform demanding number system conversions. The student masters switching algebra and is able to simplify equations. The student masters logical planning, combination logics and sequence logics, and is able to apply their knowledge to technical design. The student is able to analyze demanding problems independently and design creative solutions.
