Objective

The student masters the theory on parts of cloud services, their structures, technical implementation methods and various models. In addition, the student masters the basics of design and identifies the advantanges and disadvantages of various service models.

Content

The course consists of parts of cloud services, cloud service models generally used, their functionality, use and design know-how. In addition, the course introduces services offered by various providers of cloud services and it critically compares their content.

Qualifications

The student must have completed professional studies of his (her) specialization option in order to be able to participate in this course. The knowledge base consists of theory and practice of IT management, various network technologies and knowledge and practical skills in server operating systems.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1: The student is able to separate cloud service models and knows their practical differences. The student knows the basics of project work and participates in the group’s operation actively without being capable of critical self-assessment.

Satisfactory 2: The student knows the various cloud service models and the theory on implementing a cloud service. The student knows the basic use of cloud services. The student is able to act in a project group in certain roles and is able to assess their own and the group’s operation superficially.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3: The student knows of the theory on various cloud services and cloud service models in outline and knows the most common cloud service providers. The student is able to design and implement a simple cloud service in a small scale. The student is able to work in a project group in certain roles and assess the group’s and their own operation and outcome in outline.

Very good 4: The student demonstrates mastery of the theory on various cloud services and cloud service models and knows the most common cloud service providers. The student is able to design and implement a cloud service in a small scale. The student is able to work in a project group in certain roles and assess the group’s and their own operation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5: The student demonstrates mastery of the theory on various cloud services and cloud service models and knows the most common cloud service providers. The student is able to design and implement a cloud service in a SME (small and medium-sized enterprise). The student is able to work in a project group in all roles and critically assess the group’s and their own operation.
