Objective

The student knows the typical roles in game development and is able to design and implement a prototype of a computer game in a game development project group. The student will learn at least the basics of a game engine of their choice.

Content

The course comprises design, implementation, and testing of a computer game in a group including project documentation.

Excellent 5: The student carries out the project work with self-determination and efficiency and shows initiative in presenting new ideas in the completed implementation. The student provides detailed and high-quality documentation about game design and implementation. The game project plan is feasible including a schedule and workload estimates. The final presentation is professional and shares best practices.

Very good 4: The student has fulfilled her/his role in the game development group. The implemented game prototype is designed with care and documented and implemented very well. The presentation shows all the required elements from design to implementation.

Good 3: The student provides sufficient game project documentation and implementation. The presentation given on the assignment is good.

Satisfactory 2: The student can design and implement a game prototype in a game development group. The required documentation is brief, and the assignment has been presented in a seminar.

Sufficient 1: The student participates in the design and implementation of a simple computer game prototype.

Fail 0: The student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course.
