The European Union (4cr)

Objective

The student understands the overall role of the European Union and can independently acquire information on it, as well as assessing the potential effects of the European Union on the operations of a Finnish company.

Content

The history of the European integration; the EU bodies and decision-making procedures; the structure and regulations of EU Law; trade, internal market, competition, consumer, agricultural, environmental, corporate and regional policies in the EU.

Qualifications

The student is familiar with the basics of a company's internationalisation process and understands the impact of the international operating environment on the company's business operations.
