Objective

The students
- understand the restrictions and possibilities of data networks with regard to the implementation of a multimedia application for terminals (desktop, Internet and mobile)
- can design and implement distributed multimedia applications for different terminals
- master the basic use of information sources as background technologies of multimedia applications

- implementing distributed multimedia applications with Adobe Flex application developer
- efficient use of different databanks as the background technologies of multimedia applications
- component-based MXML and ActionScipt programming
- advanced multimedia desktop applications with AIR technology
- multimedia application programming for mobile phones with Flash Lite technology
- publishing an application for different terminals
- focus is on the latest possibilities of Adobe to implement RIA applications

Qualifications

Network Multimedia Authoring 1 or equivalent knowledge

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) : The student masters the possibilities of data networks in realizing multimedia applications and he (she) can design and realize a demanding distributed multimedia application for various terminal devices.
Good (3-4): The student masters well the essential learning objectives of the course.
He (she) knows the possibilities of data networks in realizing multimedia applications and he (she) can design and realize a distributed multimedia application.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student knows the possibilities of data networks and he (she) can realize a simple distributed application.
Fail (0): The student does not master the subject.
