Objective

The students have a command of the most central concepts and units of energy technology and energy economics, and the principles of combustion. They are able to use small biomass boilers and combustion gas analysers. The students know the most general solid biomass combustion technologies, and the properties and uses of different types of boilers and stoves, especially those of the size of district and property heating. The students know the most important stages of planning a heating centre to a farm-sized building, are able to make preliminary calculations on energy and fuel requiremens, and profitability. The students know the most important authorities' regulations related to building a bioenergy heating plant.
