Objective
You will get to know the operation of broader automation equipment solutions and learn good programming and design practices for automation packages. In this course you will already get a deeper insight into automation technology. This course builds on previous knowledge in the field and enables you to study the topic in more depth.
EUR-ACE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
You know a wide range of automation technology equipment solutions. You understand how devices can be controlled using the bus. You know the IEC-61131 standard and can interpret the program descriptions made according to it.
EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You can implement even wider control and regulation applications following good practices, e.g, with programmable logics.

Qualifications
You will need to be able to define simple functional automation equipment and master a programming environment in the field well enough to be able to take over the tools used in the course independently.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Sufficient (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in understanding the key issues.
Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but applying the knowledge independently in practice is challenging for you.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3): You have a clear view of the structure and functions of larger and more complex automation systems, even at the bit level. You can configure the bus and the application that uses it, and also locate potential causes for system failure.
Very good (4): You master the key things and know how to apply them in a variety of ways to different automation circuits.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): You master key issues and are able to apply them in critical and innovative way from control systems to the field devices.
