Objective

The students have the basic competence to promote the health and wellbeing of children/youth and their families. They can apply an empowering approach when planning, implementing and evaluating the care of a child or a young person and their families. When tutored, the students can take care of and support a sick child or a young person and their families in various situations in life, in the operational environments of pediatric nursing.

Content

Tutored practical training in the pediatric/children's neurological/children's surgical wards and outpatient departments. Public health nurses also in maternity ward.

Qualifications

The students know the most central nursing interventions in the care of clients/petients. They know the basics of human anatomy and physiology. The students can plan, implement and evaluate health promotion. They know the basics of children's growth and development. They have the basic competence to take care of and support a sick child or young person and their families in the different operational environments of pediatric nursing.
