Objective
The students have basic skills in the promotion of the health and well-being of pregnant women and their families, the families of neonates, and of the elderly. They are able to apply an empowering approach to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing of individuals and families at different stages of life. The students are interested in the significance of the community and social factors when cooperating with individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds and with different social function. They evaluate their own work reflectively and through peer evaluation.
Content
Supervised practical training for students of nursing and public health nursing in public and private home health care units, and for midwifes in maternity wards.
Qualifications
The students know the central nursing interventions used in the care of clients/patients. They know the basics of human anatomy and physiology and have a basic ability to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion.
