Objective
The students are familiar with the conception of man in occupational therapy and the field's values and regulations on professional ethics. They understand the central concepts of the field, the use of emphatetic counselling, teaching and one's own personality as part of therapy work. They know the basics of clinical reasoning in occupational therapy, as well as the basics of dialogue and empowerment. The students also understand the factors affecting the creation and ending of a therapeutic relationship and they can examine the possibilities of a therapeutical process of change. They know the techiques of interwieving and active listening. The students recognise factors related to wellbeing as a therapist.
Content
Lectures, assignments and exercises are used to familiarize students with the central values, guidelines and concepts of occupational therapy as well as the basics of clinical reasoning. During the course, the students also become familiar with the basics of assessment in occupational therapy, use of narrative, interview and observation, and the basics of counselling and teaching in therapy work.
