Objective
The student is able to independently plan, conduct and estimate breastfeeding guidance/ nutrition guidance for a family which is either expecting or has a suckling baby. His / her action is resource based and s/he demonstrates support towards breastfeeding and health promotion of the family.
Student understands that protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding is related to the comprehensive well-being of the woman, the family of the suckling baby and the society. S/he has professional readiness to comment and promote breastfeeding related issues at the level of society and individual.
Student:
-is able to understand the meaning of sexuality in life, sexual diversity and sexual health as a part of the comprehensive well-being of an individual and the society
-evaluates his/her own sexuality related attitudes, values and bounds, and s/he has basic information of sexual development, sexual anatomy, physiology and sexual reactions.
-has readiness for safe and responsible sexual behavior.
Student:
-is able to face clients and support them in sexuality related issues as a part of comprehensive nursing, rehabilitation and supporting work
- knows the most common sexuality related functional disorders, is able to recognize them and knows the treatments for them. S/he is able to advise a client at two first levels of PLISSIT-model, knows methods to promote sexual/reproductive health at the level of individual, family and society and know the influence of the most common national health problems to sexuality.
Content
Babyfriendly Hospital Initiative and the significance of breastfeeding. The physiology of breastfeeding, nutrition of the mother and the nutrition recommendations for the newborn infant. Supporting of breastfeeding process and breastfeeding related problem solving in cooperation with the family. Breasfeeding of premature or a sick baby. Doula activity.
The dimensions of sexuality, sexual health, reproductive health, sexual rights, reproductive rights, sexuality related taboos and myths, sexual fantasies, eroticism, pornography, prostitution. Sexual development, sexual diversity. Love, couple relation. Sexual reactions, sexual devices. Family planning, methods of contraception, venereal diseases.
Facing the sexuality of the client, sexual anamnesis, Plissit model. Sexuality and disability/becoming disabled or ill. Sexuality related functional disorders and their treatment. Sexual violence, sexual offences legislation.
