Objective
The object of the course
After completion of the course, you are able to analyse the strategic inte-gration and the actual fit of firm's HR policies and practices to its corpo-rate and business strategy you are able to develop a plan for HR in order to improve the organisations’ overall performance and future needs.

The learning objectives of the course
Upon completion of the course, you are aware of how human resource management can contribute to solving strategic issues and sustainability challenges of firms. You recognise development needs for future of your field. You show critical review skills and can name some of the core con-cepts of strategic human resource management. You know how the knowledge in human resource management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and finance can contribute to overall success of international firms.
Content
The course content will focus on the strategic management process, stra-tegic review, different types of strategies and the role of strategic human resource management in international context. In addition, topical HR met-rics, benchmarking, high-performance work systems, employee engage-ment, diversity and sustainability issues will be addressed. Activities such as recruitment, training and development, performance and reward man-agement and compensation are covered.

Execution methods
Classroom teaching - lectures, workshops and case work in groups. Two intensive days on-campus from Friday to Saturday. Independent studying prior to the intensive days. Independent assignments after the on-campus period. Virtual learning support independent study. The primary mode of delivery is a combination of in-class activities on campus including both lectures and workshops. There will be also some video materials to support study opportunities for distance learning. The in-class activities deepen the learning in the forms of tutorials, individual and group works, reflection and guidance.
