First Aid and Crisis Management (3cr)

Objective

Students are able to recognize the need for help and call for help. They are able to act in sudden accident situations or in case of an attack of illness, and to identify the need for immediate first aid and give first aid to children and adults in various situations requiring first aid. Students are familiar with societal preparedness for crises, and train their own crisis preparedness.

Content

First aid courses 1 and 2 of the Finnish Red Cross. Mental first aid and crisis work, crisis preparedness and first aid in hospitals, civil defence, fire safety, the emergency centre and its activities, other voluntary organizations connected with societal crisis preparedness.
