Objective
Students understand the significance of the social and health care service system and social safety for ensuring our well-being. They actively monitor the efficiency of the service system and know the central legislation on social and health care. Students know clients' rights and opportunities to influence. They understand the significance of the science of public health and epidemiology for the health promotion of the population. Students recognize the central national illnesses and threats to the well-being of the population. Students are able to find information on the health status of the population utilizing the key indicators of health and well-being.

The central concepts and research methods of the science of public health and epidemiology, the health status of the population and factors affecting it, the key indicators of health and well-being, social problems, social and health care services, the financing of the services and various ways to provide them, the client's position, legislation
