Objective
The students have developed their theoretical knowledge regarding the approaches of sociology and social psychology. They can evaluate daily interaction between the individual and a community. They are familiar with the organisation of the social world, human interaction, and various phenomena of group psychology.
Content
The central theoretical approaches of sociology and social psychology. Development of the ego in human interaction and different social environments. The impact of cultural and social institutions on an individual’s activities. Social perception and action. The organisation of groups, interactions between group and individual. Social structures and changes in working life. Different social phenomena, e.g. risk society, information society and globalisation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The assignments are assessed based on set objectives. General assessment criteria for essays apply to the essay assignments, and the ability to reflect on the described phenomena is considered. The observation assignments emphasise the student’s ability to identify phenomena according to his/her chosen theme in real life. Reporting corresponds to given instructions. Participation in online discussion on the assignments and successful completion (60% correct) of test exercise.
