Objective

In this course, you will get to understand the key technologies of smart agriculture and their application in different areas of arable farming. You will be able to evaluate and utilize data, smart agriculture systems, and digital tools to enhance sustainable production. In this course, you will learn to utilize smart agriculture technologies to create situational awareness. You can use this situational awareness to support decision-making, improving the efficiency, sustainability, and predictability of operations.

-knowledge and understanding of applicable materials, equipment, tools, technologies and processes and their limitations in one's field of specialization
-knowledge and understanding of applicable analysis, design and research/development techniques and methods and their limitations in one's field of specialization

EUR-ACE APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY
-ability to analyze complex technical products, processes and systems and to correctly interpret the results of such analyses, being able to select and have the practical skills to apply established analytical, computational and experimental techniques and methods that are appropriate to the situation
-ability to identify, formulate and solve complex problems, being able to select and have the practical skills to apply established analytical, computational and experimental techniques and methods that are appropriate to the situation
-ability to investigate professional practice in one's field instructions and safety regulations and apply them

Content

Utilization of smart agriculture solutions in crop production. Modeling and simulation of crop production at the farm level and creating and applying situational awareness in decision-making. Data collection and imaging done by drones. Production and utilization of crop maps in cultivation. Utilization of ISOBUS functionalities in farming operations.

Qualifications

Basics of automation technology or equivalent knowledge.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

After the course, you will be able to identify different smart farming technologies and applications. You will be able to utilize field crop modeling and drone data collection in a few ways as part of crop planning. You will understand what ISOBUS data transfer means in agricultural machinery. You will know how a farm can develop situational awareness of its own production process.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

After the course, you will be familiar with various smart farming technologies and applications. You will be able to utilize field crop modeling and drone data collection in many ways as part of crop planning. You will understand what ISOBUS data transfer means in agricultural machinery and you will be able to utilize ISOBUS data transfer. You will be able to describe and evaluate how a farm can develop situational awareness of its own production process.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

After completing the course, you will master various smart farming technologies and applications. You will be able to utilize field crop modeling and drone data collection in many ways as part of crop planning, recognizing their strengths and weaknesses. You will be able to explain what ISOBUS data transfer means in agricultural machinery and you will be able to comprehensively utilize ISOBUS data transfer. You will be able to develop ways for a farm to develop situational awareness of its own production process.
