Objective

Purpose of the course

After completing this course, you will be familiar with forest management methods and their technological solutions.

Learning outcomes

You will be familiar with the technological solutions used in forest regeneration and management and their development needs. You will be familiar with current technologies for logging, wood energy production and its security of supply, and you will know how to use raw materials. You will be familiar with forest-related data collection methods and data analysis techniques and know how geospatial and forest resource data are used in forestry services.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1:
You can identify the technologies used in forest regeneration and management. You can identify logging technologies and the stages of wood energy production. You understand the concept of security of supply and ways of utilizing raw materials. You also grasp the basic concepts of forest-related, location, and forest resource data. Your assignments have been approved, but they have some shortcomings.

Satisfactory 2:
You can explain the main features of the technologies used in forest management and regeneration. You understand the wood energy production process, the importance of security of supply, and the principles of raw material utilization. You can describe methods for collecting and analyzing data, as well as the roles of location and forest resource data in forestry services. The assignments have been approved and completed according to the instructions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3:
You will learn to apply forest management and regeneration technologies, timber harvesting, and wood energy production solutions to practical examples and plans. You will learn how to use forest-related data, geographic information, and forest resource information to develop forestry services. The assignments have been completed in accordance with the instructions and using the learning materials.

Very good 4:
You will learn to analyze the strengths and suitability of forest management and harvesting technologies in various situations. You will also assess the security challenges in wood energy production and the potential uses of raw materials. You will also learn to compare data collection and analysis methods, as well as the suitability of location and forest resource data for various forestry needs. These assignments have been completed in accordance with the instructions and have used a variety of sources.

Excellent 5:
