Objective

Course Purpose:
In this course, you will explore equality and accessible, inclusive teaching and assessment. You will learn about different learning challenges and their impact on student identity and learning. You will learn to plan and implement teaching according to the principles of inclusive pedagogy and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. You will learn to recognize and utilize different learning styles and approaches, and to offer diverse learning opportunities for diverse learners. You will also reflect on how to demonstrate and assess competence from the perspective of diverse learners.

- You are familiar with the most common factors that challenge learning and participation and understand their impact on learning.
- You understand the concepts of diversity, participation, equality, and accessible and inclusive teaching and assessment.
- You are familiar with the principles of differentiation and are able to plan accessible and inclusive teaching and assessment.
- You are familiar with the principles of language-aware teaching.

Competence in learner diversity
- You understand what is meant by diversity, and accessible and inclusive education.
- You are familiar with the most common learning challenges.
- In your teaching, you take into account the requirements of accessible and inclusive education.

Competence in pedagogical well-being
- You understand the importance of a safe, encouraging, and well-being-promoting learning environment for every learner and can promote it in your practice.
- You identify factors in teaching that promote student agency and study ability.
- You are able to collaborate with special education teachers when necessary to support learning goals.
