Objective

The student understands the ecological perspective of sustainable development and its significance for the bioeconomy. He/she is familiar with the interactions between the bioeconomy and the environment. He/she is able to analyze and predict the effects of ecological and biological factors on the operation and development of the bioeconomy sector and to apply his/her knowledge in decision-making for the development of the sector.

Content

Ecologically sustainable use of natural resources and the environmental impacts of bioeconomy.

Regional, national and global utilization of biomass resources and the ecological boundary conditions, risks and their analysis and forecasting of bioeconomy.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient learner (1): The student is familiar with basic concepts of ecological aspects of bioeconomy and related challenges and opportunities

Satisfactory learner (2): The student is familiar with the basic concepts of ecological issues, challenges and opportunities in the sector of bioeconomy and can apply them partially

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good learner (3): The student knows the key concepts and practices related to the ecological perspective of bioeconomy and the basic methods for their evaluation. The student is able to make well-founded choices from an ecological perspective

Very good learner (4): The student masters the key ecological concepts and methods of bioeconomy and is able to apply them critically in solving ecological challenges of bioeconomy

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent learner (5): The student masters the key concepts and methods of bioeconomy and is able to apply them critically and innovatively in solving demanding ecological challenges of bioeconomy.
