Objective

The student is able to use AutoCAD Mechanical components and dimensioning commands when creating 2D drawings that include dimensional and geometric tolerances, surface symbols, welding symbols, and parts lists.

Knowledge and Understanding
The student can modify or supplement existing drawings and produce unambiguous working drawings of products. They can utilize AutoCAD Mechanical features for tolerances, surface symbols, and welding symbols when creating manufacturing drawings.

Technology in Practice
The student is able to produce working drawings required for manufacturing in compliance with current standards and understands the basics of tolerancing as well as the use of surface and welding symbols.

Multidisciplinary Competence:

After completing the course, the student understands the basics of part tolerancing and dimensioning requirements as well as the use of welding symbols. They have the necessary knowledge and skills to begin working in design tasks.

Content

Methods of representation, projections, and dimensioning. Geometric Product Specification (GPS), including fit and geometric tolerances as well as surface and welding symbols. Applying these markings using AutoCAD Mechanical.

Qualifications

AutoCAD Basic.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Utilising the features of AutoCAD Mechanical software in preparing unambiguous manufacturing drawings. Return learning assignments.
