Osaamistavoitteet

The students can develop operation processes comprehensively. They master the use of more developed quality tools (QS9000 tools) and they can apply quality award criteria. They master the quality assurance of measurements and measuring systems. They are able to develop quality-, environmental-, and safety management systems.

EA-ER EUR-ACE Engineering practice: The students have a ability to select and use appropriate methods and tchniques to develop operation processes. They also be able to combine theory and practice to solve development problems. They have understanding of applicable techniques and methods and of their limitations. They also have awareness of the non-technical implications of their choises.
EA-TR EUR-ACE Transferable skills: The students demonstrate an awareness of the health, safety, environmental and legal issues and responsibilities of engineering practice, understand the impact of engineering solutions in a societal and environmental context.
YHT-KV Internationality skills: The students are able to work independently in situations, in addition to her/his first language, at least one foreign language.

Sisältö

Operation systems and system thinking, development of operations management system, quality assurance of measurements and measuring systems, use of more demanding quality tools (QS9000 tools: Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) especially RR-tests, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan (AQAP), applying quality award criteria (EFQM, MBNQA).

Esitietovaatimukset

The students have the technical basic abilities with which they can e.g. understand technical documentation and technical publications and they can apply them in their own work. In addition, the students have basic abilities of production technology and economy.

Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1)

Excellent (5): The student masters the essential knowledge and
skills required and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner to problem solving situations. The student can make simple synthesis and conclusions.
Very good (4): The student masters the essential knowledge and
skills and can apply the knowledge
acquired in a critical manner to problem solving situations.
Good (3): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills also
in more complicated situations:
- is able to design, implement and manage improvement projects
related to the quality performance in production processes
- can choose and use the most important development tools and
techniques (TQM, quality improvement tools: seven old and new, SPC
and FMEA)
- is familiar with the basic inspection and condition monitoring
methods of the production machinery.
Satisfactory (2): The student knows the basic knowledge and
terminology but there are some gaps in the knowledge how to
implement the most important problem solving techniques and ideas.
The student is able to solve unusual problems in a satisfactory manner
applying different quality techniques.
Adequate (1): The student identifies the basic knowledge and
terminology but there are significant gaps in the knowledge how to
understand the most important problem solving techniques and ideas.
The student is able to solve simple problems in a satisfactory manner
applying different quality techniques.
Assessment is based on the exam, assignments and laboratory work.
