Osaamistavoitteet
The objective of the course is to enhance students' capacity to manage the financial aspects of the whole life cycle of a venture, from start-up to growth, and finally to the exit phase. By the end of the course, the students are able to describe the key concepts of a venture's financial environment, staged financing, investment readiness and deal structure, current trends in financing entrepreneurial ventures, and the sources of external finance available for young ventures. The students know how to access and manage these sources as well as the key issues that entrepreneurs typically face in managing a growing and the options available to harvest a venture.
Sisältö
The course is based on two classes, 1st: financing the start-up and
2nd: growing and harvesting the venture.
The first class covers the range of financial options available to new ventures, including self-financing, bootstrapping, informal investment sources, venture capital, and so on. In the second class, the students will be challenged to develop growth and harvest strategies for substantial businesses and significant value creation and capture.

Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework, Level 7. The assessment criteria for individual courses are given in an annex to the implementation plan of the course.
