Objective

The students are able to promote their oral and written skills of English necessary for multicultural contexts and their command of the most essential terminology of their fields.

Content

- The most essential terminology of The students’ own fields
- Interactive working life skills (e.g. negotiation,
argumentation, performance appraisal, information, orientation, hosting visitors, telephone practice, giving a speech)
- Production and comprehension of formal texts (e.g. emails, reports, memo)
- Integration of the material studied in English in the master’s program with language studies
- International business culture

Qualifications

The students know how to interact orally and in writing in multicultural, everyday situations both in business and leisure time. They also have a command of the most essential terminology of their own fields. The students are aware of the differences between formal and informal style.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Written: The students have an excellent command of grammatical structures in accordance with the formal style, and of the terminology of their own field of work.
Oral: The students are able to communicate in an excellent, interactive way also in international contexts.

Written: The students have a very good command of grammatical structures in accordance with the formal style, and of the terminology of their own field of work.
Oral: The students are able to communicate in a very fluent and interactive way also in international contexts.

Written: The students have a versatile command of grammatical structures in accordance with the formal style, and of the terminology of their own field of work. Some minor mistakes may occur.
Oral: The students are able to communicate in a fluent and interactive way also in international contexts.

Written: The students have a satisfactory command of grammatical structures in accordance with the formal style, and of the terminology of their own field of work. Occasional mistakes do not obscure the message.
Oral: The students are able to communicate in a satisfactorily fluent and interactive way also in international contexts.

Fail
