Refresh Your Communication Skills (5cr)

Objective

The students identify their personal learning style and learn to evaluate and develop it. They understand the significance of study technique and the writing process for learning and seek to develop their written communication skills. They know the most common text types of academic writing and the characteristics of formal writing.

Content

Learning styles and learning skills. The interactive writing process and academic writing, the text types of assignments, writing in formal style, grammar and guidance on correct usage.

Qualifications

The students master the comprehensive school syllabus of Finnish or have equivalent knowledge.
